AJ Styles joins the show.

Styles talks about stumbling over one of his lines on tonight’s show. Renee asks about Styles wanting the US Championship and he says he would like the opportunity to take the title away from Owens. He continued that Owens made a mockery of the “Open Challenge” and when Styles wins the title, he’s going to keep the “Open Challenge” tradition going. They talk about Styles and Nakamura facing off and the great reaction it got. Styles says Owens is “Getting it done” as champion, beating Jericho and even himself, but he wants another shot at him. Styles asks Bryan if there was anyone he got in the ring with who Bryan thought was better than him. Bryan named a few, including Jushin Thunder Liger. Styles says he doesn’t think he can be beat and that’s the mentality he simply has. Styles gives Bryan some “Dad advice” about diaper duty and eventually they come up with the idea of a show called “WWE Dads.”

AJ heads out and Renee says that conversation went to a weird place. Renee then plugs next week’s SmackDown, which includes the Women’s MITB Ladder Rematch, Lana vs. Naomi for the Women’s Championship, and The Usos vs. The Hype Bros (If Hype Bros win, they are the number one contenders). We welcome our first guest AJ Styles, and Shane claps as he makes his way to the table. AJ says maybe if he wasn’t banned from ringside, he could have made sure that KO didn’t try to end Y2J’s career. Shane says he’ll have his opportunity for payback at Backlash. Renee asks if he had a preference on who he would face, and AJ says it doesn’t matter because he’s phenomenal. She follows up asking if AJ is upset with new talent like Owens and Jericho stepping on his toes. He says they could bring Braun Strowman out there and it wouldn’t matter.

AJ says what he wants right now is the United States Championship. Renee asks if he feels the pressure of carrying SmackDown Live and he says pressure makes diamonds. He says bet on him walking out United States Champion. Young warns AJ about Owens and AJ says he just won the WWE Title and is on track to win the US Title, just like Owens won the Universal Title and the US Title. But AJ says if Owens is the best right now, then he’s better than the best. He says if you want to prove yourself, come to SmackDown. Styles says “SmackDown makes ’em and Raw takes ’em.” Just like Jinder Mahal, superstars are made here and both Renee and Shane compliment him for his passion. AJ decides to leave on that note and heads off.

We are in Fresno, California and your announcers are Tom Phillips, John Layfield, and Byron Saxton.

Shane McMahon makes his way to the ring and he does the Shane-O Shuffle on the way.

Shane says since everyone is fired up, he introduces the newest member of Smackdown, the United States Champion, Chris Jericho.  Chris makes his way to the ring.

Chris says this is a special night because he is giving everyone what they want.  He will give everyone what they need.  This is the new Show of Jericho . . . Smack it down, man.

Shane says everyone is thrilled that he is on Smackdown.  There is a locker room full of people for dream matches.  Shane tells Chris that he will be defending the United States Title against his nemesis tonight . . . Kevin Owens.

AJ Styles makes his way to the stage.

AJ comments on his old friend turned bitter enemy.  AJ says things have changed since they were on the same show.  AJ tells Chris that he is standing in the House that AJ Styles Built.  AJ says he does not forget about the past.  He brings up the Y2AJ shirts and then he says it would mean nothing more to him than to take the title from Jericho at Backlash, if Jericho is still the champion.

Chris asks AJ if he saw Kevin tap out to the Walls of Jericho.  He says there is a new Face of America and Chris Jericho be that name. Chris asks AJ if he knows what happens when you think he cannot beat Kevin Owens tonight?  Does AJ know what happens when you don’t think he will retain the United States Title?

We will not find out because Kevin Owens’ music plays and he comes out to the stage.

Kevin says this is the most pathetic thing he has seen in his career.  Shane McMahon, Chris Jericho, and AJ Styles arguing about things that don’t matter.  All that matters is tonight and he gets his rematch where he will take back what is his, the United States Championship.  He asks Chris if he thought the Festival of Friendship was bad, did you think Wrestlemania was bad?  Wait until tonight. Kevin tells AJ to get out of his ring because he does not belong in it.

AJ leaves the ring and he attacks Owens.  Chris wants it to continue while officials and Shane McMahon try to separate them.

We are back and it is time for Shane McMahon and after the battle with Shane McMahon 48 hours ago, he is still able to do the Shane-O Shuffle

Shane thanks everyone for the reception.  He says it has been quite a ride in the Sunshine State.  On Monday night, Vince said there would be a Superstar Shake Up.  It means excitement and new challenges.  Shane says everyone on the Raw roster should pray they will end up on Smackdown because this is the land of opportunity.

AJ Styles’ music plays and he makes his way to the ring.

AJ says he does not know what is going on with this Superstar Shake Up, but he does not want to go anywhere.  Shane knows it, these people know it.  Smackdown is the house that AJ Styles built.  AJ says he will be damned if someone is going to come over and try to take that from him.  That is not why he came out here.

AJ says he owes Shane something after Wrestlemania.  AJ offers his hand and Shane shakes it.  AJ teases a punch and he smiles at Shane and then he poses.

Last week, AJ Styles confronted Shane McMahon and he was subsequently fired by Daniel Bryan.  Despite being fired, AJ has a match at Wrestlemania against Shane McMahon.

Daniel Bryan is talking over the logistics of the show and AJ Styles enters looking for Shane McMahon.

Daniel tells AJ that AJ would still be fired if it was up to him.  He says that Shane is not like the other McMahons who would have ruined his life.  Shane wants to handle this like a man and Daniel says AJ has no idea what Shane has in store for him.

AJ asks if Shane is not here.

Daniel says Shane is on his way.

AJ says it is like deja vu so he is going to go out again and talk about how great it is to beat up Shane McMahon.

We are in Uncasville, Connecticut and your announcers are David Otunga, Tom Phillips, and John Layfield.

AJ Styles makes his way to the ring.

AJ says it has been seven days for him to think about what he did last week. AJ says he is . . . not sorry for anything he did last week.  He says you have no idea how good it felt to put his fist in Shane’s face.  It made his heart swell. Everything that Shane McMahon has put him through, he is glad that he put Shane through something . . . a car window. Then Shane has the audacity to come out after he is ‘fired’ to be put into a match.

AJ says Shane is crazier than anyone ever thought you were.  AJ accepts Shane’s challenge.  Why would a superior athlete and a former WWE Champion want to be in the ring with Shane McMahon.  He wants to be part of the Ultimate Thrill Ride . . . Wrestlemania.  Why would Shane want to be in the ring with AJ Styles? AJ says it is because without AJ Styles, Smackdown plummets.  Without AJ Styles, Smackdown’s social media crashes like Shane McMahon into a car window.  AJ says he is untouchable.  He can put Shane through a car window and he can get into a match at Wrestlemania.

AJ says he is going to meet Shane in the parking garage.  Things can go from bad to phenomenally worse.

We go to commercial.

AJ Styles is in the parking lot waiting for Shane to arrive.

We return to the garage and AJ Styles still waits for Shane to show up for the second hour of the show he runs.

AJ Styles still waits for Shane McMahon to arrive at the arena.

We go to commercial.

AJ Styles is still in the garage and Renee Young wants to know what AJ intends to do.

On cue, like last week, a car arrives when Renee stops by.

Rhyno and Heath Slater come out of the vehicle and AJ is confused.

Shane McMahon’s music plays and he does the Shane-O Shuffle on his way to the ring.

Shane says AJ Styles is looking for him and he is right here.  Shane says that he is looking for AJ Styles.

Renee Young stops by to tell AJ that Shane is in the arena.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Shane is in the ring.  He says that AJ is a tough guy when Shane is not here or his back is turned.  He wants AJ to prove how tough he is.  He would be willing to discuss the issues that AJ had with him.  They could have thrown down if it had escalated.  What you did do is you came in from the blindside.
