AJ Styles joins the show. He admits his match with Finn Balor had no buildup, but was good just the same. Styles runs down the process to getting to WWE TLC. He got the call, performed Friday night, got on a plane right afterward, and competed tonight. He says they created a special match even with no buildup and seems to be proud of their effort. Styles said he was happy to see the positive response from fans once the match was announced. Rosenberg notes that ultimately Styles lost the match. Styles said he makes no excuses and has fought demons his entire life and spiritually wouldn’t let them cripple him, and won’t let this demon cripple him either. When asked about Survivor Series, Styles says SD Live has the best roster, possibly ever, and they have a lot of hungry guys and girls to put on the best show period. Styles reiterates he couldn’t pass up this opportunity as he makes his exit.

AJ Styles joins the show.

Styles talks about stumbling over one of his lines on tonight’s show. Renee asks about Styles wanting the US Championship and he says he would like the opportunity to take the title away from Owens. He continued that Owens made a mockery of the “Open Challenge” and when Styles wins the title, he’s going to keep the “Open Challenge” tradition going. Bryan asks about Styles hanging high above the ring at MITB, Styles says he was thinking of trying to unhook it, but it didn’t work out. They talk about Styles and Nakamura facing off and the great reaction it got. Styles says Owens is “Getting it done” as champion, beating Jericho and even himself, but he wants another shot at him. Styles asks Bryan if there was anyone he got in the ring with who Bryan thought was better than him. Bryan named a few, including Jushin Thunder Liger. Styles says he doesn’t think he can be beat and that’s the mentality he simply has. Styles gives Bryan some “Dad advice” about diaper duty and eventually they come up with the idea of a show called “WWE Dads.”

AJ heads out and Renee says that conversation went to a weird place. Renee then plugs next week’s SmackDown, which includes the Women’s MITB Ladder Rematch, Lana vs. Naomi for the Women’s Championship, and The Usos vs. The Hype Bros (If Hype Bros win, they are the number one contenders). Daniel Bryan may or may not be back next week and we’re out!

AJ Styles joins the show.

AJ says if Shane wears a man romper, they are back to square one. Renee asks AJ about getting his win back tonight against Dolph Ziggler. Styles was happy and the ending was pretty sweet. They move to the MITB Match and Styles talks about how he has to deal with five guys in the ring and climb the ladder quick enough to grab the briefcase. Styles wasn’t impressed with Corbin’s cheap shot tactics, he says anybody can do that! He says he’s not worried about Corbin as long as he keeps his eyes open and keeps Corbin at a distance. Shane talks about how ring awareness is needed to survive a match like that. Styles continues on how difficult the match is – Shane agrees – saying it’s even more dangerous than just a Ladder Match. Renee asks what it feels like to be hit by a ladder and Styles simple says it sucks.

Styles says he’s most worried about Ziggler, because he’s actually won this match, and he wants to figure out what Ziggler did to win it. Shane and AJ talk about strategy and trying to figure out who other guys may focus on, and how to take advantage of those situations. Renee asks when AJ would cash it in, if he won. Styles said it would depend on how he felt after the match and it’s about cashing it at the right time, that’s the most important thing. Renee plugs Money in the Bank and then thanks Styles for coming on the show. Styles asks what’s in their coffee mugs as Renee thanks everyone for watching the show, and we’re out!

We welcome our first guest AJ Styles, and Shane claps as he makes his way to the table. AJ says maybe if he wasn’t banned from ringside, he could have made sure that KO didn’t try to end Y2J’s career. Shane says he’ll have his opportunity for payback at Backlash. Renee asks if he had a preference on who he would face, and AJ says it doesn’t matter because he’s phenomenal. She follows up asking if AJ is upset with new talent like Owens and Jericho stepping on his toes. He says they could bring Braun Strowman out there and it wouldn’t matter.

AJ says what he wants right now is the United States Championship. Renee asks if he feels the pressure of carrying SmackDown Live and he says pressure makes diamonds. He says bet on him walking out United States Champion. Young warns AJ about Owens and AJ says he just won the WWE Title and is on track to win the US Title, just like Owens won the Universal Title and the US Title. But AJ says if Owens is the best right now, then he’s better than the best. He says if you want to prove yourself, come to SmackDown. Styles says “SmackDown makes ’em and Raw takes ’em.” Just like Jinder Mahal, superstars are made here and both Renee and Shane compliment him for his passion. AJ decides to leave on that note and heads off.

AJ Styles joins the show as it’s first guest. Styles says that he is feeling really good about what he is going to do to Shane McMahon at WrestleMania. Bryan asks AJ why he didn’t shake Shane’s hand tonight, “like in the good old days of Ring of Honor”.

AJ calls the handshake idea by Bryan a bad idea. Daniel agrees that his timing wasn’t very good, because AJ and Shane were about to go at it physically. Daniel admits that the crowd booed him for suggesting the handshake. Renee concurs that Bryan’s handshake idea was awkwardly timed… Styles then goes on to talk the type of match that he is going to have with Shane sunday. How Shane won’t be able to go to his usual bag of tricks of doing high risk leaps or using foreign objects. How Shane is going to be forced to out wrestle him. Renee and Bryan come to Shane’s defense. They put over his history and toughness. Bryan mentions Shane’s MMA training and how he bloodied up Jericho at The Survivor Series. Bryan thinks that Shane has a punchers chance against AJ. Styles admits that Shane can throw down but AJ feels that he can go there, if he has to. Daniel asks AJ if he feels like he has to prove a point at WrestleMania. Styles says that Shane McMahon shouldn’t even be in the ring with him at WrestleMania. That he should be in the main event instead. Styles says that he is going to mow right through Shane sunday, and prove that he deserves to be in the main event. AJ brings up how he still hasn’t gotten his 1 on 1 rematch for The WWE World Championship. He tells Daniel to make a note of that and then instructs him to write it down. Daniel obliges and AJ leaves the show.

After AJ leaves, Daniel Bryan comes to Styles defense to an extent. He admits that he understands AJ’s frustration. Bryan notes that Styles worked over 200 shows on top, while Shane has wrestled only two matches in the last year. Daniel admits that he can understand where AJ’s line of thinking is. How Styles can think that Shane won’t be able to hang with him. However, Bryan says that Shane has a history of stepping up when he has been in the ring, in the past against many of the WWE’s great performers like Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle. Daniel states that this is a match that he is most interested in at Mania, because he is anxious to see if Shane can raise his game to face Styles.

Footage is then shown of a dejected AJ Styles arriving backstage after his loss to Randy Orton. He is near the “gorilla” position. In the vicinity is Shane McMahon, Brian James, Michael Cole, Michael Hayes and a few others. AJ starts yelling at Shane McMahon. He tells him “Is that what you call opportunity”. Styles then confronts Shane. Brian James gets in front of AJ as he is yelling at Shane McMahon. Officials escort Styles away. Shane throws a fit and James tries to calm him down.
