Raw Becomes Phenomenal! After going to war with The Demon Finn Balor at TLC, A.J. Styles has come to Raw for One Night Only. Kurt Angle announces a match of The Raw Tag Team Champs Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose along with A.J. Styles vs The Miz and Sheamus & Cesaro.. The match was nothing short of incredible especially after what the superstars went through at TLC.
At match start all competitors went after each other. With rapid fire punches, backbreakers and clothes lines, one would wonder who would reign supreme. The match saw A.J. Styles enter the ring like the phenomenal one he is. Giving off a huge Pele Kick, he seemed to take down his opponents. While Dean & Seth cleared the ring, Styles hit Cesaro with a Phenomenal Forearm to seal the win for his team.
While celebrating their win, Kane makes an appearance and throws Styles out of the ring.  At the end of Raw, we saw Shane McMahon order his SmackDown team to take Raw under siege. Superstars including AJ Styles hunted down and attacked any Raw superstar in their path. For more on A.J.’s match and SmackDown’s TakeOver, check out what WWE.com said about what transpired tonight below.

Kurt Angle’s in-ring return last night was almost too good to be true. But all good things must end, and so The Olympic Hero got right back to business as Raw General Manager less than 24 hours after suiting up with The Shield by sanctioning a series of Champion vs. Champion Matches for WWE Survivor Series.

And they were quite a slate of contests indeed: Alexa Bliss vs. Natalya in a battle of Women’s Champions, Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins vs. The Usos in the Tag Team Champion crossover that Twitter foretold, and a bout pitting United States Champion Baron Corbin against Intercontinental Champion The Miz. He also announced there would be a pair of traditional Survivor Series Elimination Matches — one between the male Superstars of the two shows and one between the women.

Speaking of The Miz, The A-Lister quickly inserted himself into the proceedings with Curtis Axel, Cesaro & Sheamus in tow, demanding Angle’s resignation for once again maneuvering the spotlight away from the Intercontinental Champion. Ambrose & Rollins arrived to shore up the odds, but Angle opted not to don the black once again for the ensuing Six-Man Tag Team Match, instead subbing in a surprise SmackDown LIVE Superstar who’d stuck around for an extra night: AJ Styles.

AJ Styles showed up to WWE TLC on about five minutes of sleep and still gave “The Demon” Finn Bálor the fight of his life. So, you can imagine how the former WWE Champion competed after a full night’s rest when he teamed with The Shield against the formidable combo of The Miz & The Bar in Raw’s opening contest.

For one, Styles’ presence was a galvanizing force for his two teammates, who had been through a hellish TLC Match not 24 hours earlier, to say nothing of a Raw audience that was pumped to see the former WWE Champion again. And he proved to be a life-saver as well, tagging into the match in the waning minutes when Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins needed him most. A Phenomenal Forearm to Cesaro earned the victory after The Shield dispatched Miz and Sheamus with stereo suicide dives, but the arrival of Kane and subsequent five-on-three beatdown ended Styles’ night on a note that was far from phenomenal.

Raw General Manager Kurt Angle intended to use Raw’s main event to announce the brand’s male competitors for the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match. Unfortunately, an offhanded remark earlier in the evening to visiting SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon about the blue brand’s comparatively thin ranks came back to haunt The Olympic Hero when The Prodigal Son marched his roster through the audience to surround Angle in the ring and place Raw “under siege.”

With The New Day leading the charge, SmackDown picked the Raw Superstars apart one by one across the entire backstage area. Chad Gable made a beeline for Jason Jordan, the Women’s roster handily overpowered Sasha Banks & Co., and Baron Corbin even took out a hapless backstage worker. Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins put up the toughest fight by attacking from the shadows, but Team Blue overpowered The Hounds of Justice before leading Angle back to the top of the ramp.

Rusev and Corbin marched the Raw General Manager to the ring for a final face-to-face confrontation with Shane, who commanded Angle to bring his gold medal and what was left of his roster to Survivor Series, where SmackDown would finish what they started. And given the display that had just unfolded, Shane didn’t even have to steal Angle’s catchphrase (though he did anyway) for The Olympic Hero to realize that his promise may very well come true.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon are in the ring.

Stephanie says they have unfinished business.

Shane McMahon’s music plays and he Shane-O Shuffles his way to the ring. with Daniel Bryan.

They exchange pleasantries in the ring.

Shane says they did not come out here tonight . . . but first Shane says hello to Buffalo.  He says they did not come out to promote the 900th episode of Smackdown tomorrow night featuring the return of the Undertaker.

Daniel says they did not come out to talk about the Cutting Edge tomorrow night, featuring Edge.

Shane says they are promoting The Survivor Series where Raw faces Smackdown.

Stephanie says they are here to talk about Sunday when Raw proves they are the dominant brand.

Shane says Stephanie says Raw is the dominant brand, but that is not true.  Smackdown drafted better than Raw and Smackdown is a better show.

Stephanie wonders why people AT RAW are cheering for Smackdown.

Shane says Stephanie is talking about ripping up contracts while Shane says Smackdown is trying to make things better.

Stephanie asks why is Shane wrestling for the Smackdown team.  It is all about you.  People like you because you pander to them and you leap off tall structures.  What will happen when Smackdown loses because of you.

Daniel says pandering to the fans and jumping off high structures describes your GM and people love Mick.  He put Shane on Team Smackdown because he is a real leader who knows how to bring people together.  Shane can get as wild and crazy as anyone else when he gets in the ring.  Daniel says it is great that Mick put up the entire Cruiserweight brand and they will look good on Smackdown.

Mick says he has faith in Brian Kendrick and he has faith in Sami Zayn and bringing back the Intercontinental Title to Raw.  He says they are not lazy and complacent because they put the women in the main event of Hell in a Cell.

Daniel says maybe he was right and we will see it on Sunday.

Shane says he could goad Stephanie into this match because Stephanie’s ego couldn’t handle it.

Stephanie calls Shane a glory hound.

Shane says that Stephanie should get in there to and compete.  Stephanie brings out Shane’s opponents on Sunday.

Stephanie says they will show Shane how lazy and complacent they really are.

As they stand around Shane and Daniel, Daniel asks if they think they came alone.  Daniel gestures to the back and they come through the crowd.

They stand across from each other in the ring.

Kevin says look who showed up.  Kevin welcomes everyone to the Kevin Owens Show.  He tells AJ to get that hair out of his face because on the Kevin Owens show, that belt means absolutely nothing.

AJ takes a mic and he says this belt, the World Championship means nothing?  Where he comes from, that thing on your shoulder says you are no more than a paper champion.  This means he is the champ that runs the camp.  He is the Face that Runs the Place.

Kevin appreciates that AJ stole someone’s catchphrase.  He says his title means more because he is holding it.  He will prove it on Sunday.

AJ tells Kevin the only thing he has proved is that he is still on Chris Jericho’s sugar tit.  AJ reminds Kevin that he got along with Chris and past actions predict future before.  Worry about getting that knife in your back or your name on the list.

Kevin says Chris will never turn his back on him because he is a better champion and a better friend.

Chris hugs Kevin.

Chris calls AJ a stupid idiot.  Where you come from down there on Smackdown, he does not know how things work, but here, when you insult Chris Jericho and his best friend, do you know what happens?  AJ Styles, YOU JUST MADE THE LIST.  Chris tells AJ he does not like his stupid soccer mom hair so it made the list.  Chris wants to know what the hell James Ellsworth is. Chris says it appears there is a lost child at ringside and he asks for his parents to pick him up.  Chris says James is weird looking and he says weird looking guys on Raw . . . GET PUT ON THE LIST.

Bray talks to Braun and he says he gave him the keys to the kingdom and this is how you repay him?  You abandoned your brothers.  You abandoned Bray.  They destroy the monster that Bray created.

Orton and Strowman get face to face with each other.

Seth says that Shane does not want to get into this fight.  Braun took care of the New Day.  Seth says you don’t know what to expect when him and Roman are on the same page.

Dean paces and he attacks Seth.

Everyone brawls in and out of the ring.  Strowman works over Shane and then he goes after Styles.  Strowman throws Dean to the mat.  Strowman with a splash to Shane.  Ambrose and Styles work over Strowman but that does not work too well.  Ambrose with a forearm and Styles with a forearm that does nothing.  Shane with a forearm that sends him and Strowman over the top rope to the floor.  Ambrose sends Rollins to the floor and then he hits a suicide dive.  Jericho with a springboard drop kick to Styles.  Orton with an RKO to Jericho.  Roman with a Superman punch to Orton.  Wyatt goes for Sister Abigail but Roman with a Superman punch to Wyatt.  Styles stops Reigns from a dive to the floor.  Rollins with a Pedigree to Styles and then Rollins picks up Styles and Reigns power bombs Styles onto Team Smackdown on the floor.

We go to credits.

We are back and John Cena makes his way to the ring.  He says that he is fired up.  He mentions that we have the draft tomorrow night on Smackdown.  On Sunday, on the WWE Network, we have Battleground.  This Sunday, the Club, they’re going to try to beat up John Cena.  They’re about to realize they can’t see him beacuse he got the Certified Gs.

Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady make their way down the ramp and they do their intros.

Enzo tells John he has something to say.  The term ‘do not take this the wrong way’ has a zero percent success rate.  The Club, don’t take this the wrong way but you are just a bunch of blurbs of insecurity.  Enzo says he would not read a book.  Without the ugly, there is no beauty so thank you Luke Gallows for your service.  The only time a woman opens their mouth for you is when they yawn.  Enzo says that AJ has a haircut like a soccer mom.  He says Karl is like Times New Roman font because he is so generic.  The only time you three are beating them is on the 35th of neverary.  Enzo says he pulls no punches on the microphone.  He tells them if they want sympathy, open a dictionary and look between spit and syphillis.

Colin says they are the best trio there ever was.  They are like the Three Musketeers, the Three Tenors, Nirvana, Destiny’s Child, Run DMC, or the Wu-Tang Clan.

John tells them they need to be serious.

Colin says they like to have fun with the people, but when push comes to shove, they can get serious and that is what they are going to do on Sunday.  He says there is only one word to describe them and he is going to spell it out.

AJ Styles’ music plays and he says John is setting himself up for failure, but you made that choice.  He is going to give John a taste of what they are going to get at Battleground.

Karl asks them if they have chemistry.  The Club . . . chemistry.  Him and his hot Asian wife . . . chemistry.  When did you three even meet?  A few weeks ago over a bowl of candy in catering.

Luke says that the Club has spilled blood and sold out arenas all over the world.  They have had their backs since day one.

AJ says they are a well oiled machine and a team, unlike you scabs.

Karl says they have some squad goals tonight.  In addition to being able to BEAT UP JOHN CENA, they get to BEAT UP ENZO.  They get to BEAT UP CASS.  They also get to BEAT UP THE NEW DAY.

Speaking of the New Day, they make their way to the ring.

Kofi says that is typical Club.  They talk about things they like to beat.

Big E says speaking of jerks, they had their hands full at the Wyatt Compound.

AJ asks them if they are suppposed to be hiding under their beds.  They try to scare Xavier.

Xavier says they saw what the Wyatt Family is capable of, so they should be scared.  That would break any normal men.  However, the New Day are not normal men.  On Sunday at Battleground, they will show the Wyatts why they are your WWE World Tag Team Champions.

Kofi asks Cena how he couldn’t understand the ‘How You Doin’ thing.

Xavier asks to try it out.  He says he is a Level 21 Pokemon Go Trainer . . . Team Valor for Life.  He mentions different Pokemon and we get a cascade of ‘How You Doin’.

John speaks and Big E interrupts with New Day Rocks.

The Wyatts show up.

We go to commercial.

Match Number Three:  Enzo Amore, Colin Cassady, John Cena, Big E, Xavier Woods, and Kofi Kingston versus AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, and Erick Rowan

The match is joined in progress and Rowan tags in to face Cena.  Cena with a flying shoulder tackle and Gallows tags in.  Gallows misses a clothesline and Cena bounces off Gallows on a flying shoulder tackle.  Big E tags in and he does a Sexy Party and follows with a belly-to-belly suplex.  Strowman tags in and connects with a shoulder tackle.  Enzo makes the tag and he shuffles like Shane McMahon as Xavier plays along.  Strowman sends Enzo to the mat and Colin tags in.  Colin and Strowman go face to face and then Strowman slaps Cena and everyone battles in the ring.  It breaks down to Colin and Strowman again as everyone else is on the floor.

Colin with punches and a boot to the head but Strowman stays on his feet.  Kofi tags in and he comes off the turnbuckles but Strowman catches Kofi and hits a running power slam.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Bray with a uranage to Kofi for a near fall.  Bray with an Irish whip and Bray runs into a pendulum kick.  Cena tags in and he hits two flying shoulder tackles followed by a Blue Thunder Bomb and he sets for the Five Knuckle Shuffle but Bray bridges up and it freaks out Cena.  Wyatt punches Cena and Strowman tags in and head butts Cena and sends him into the corner for a series of shoulders.  Rowan tags in and kicks Cena and gets a near fall.  Rowan with a double atomic noogie on Cena but Cena gets to his feet and he powers out of the hold.  Rowan wtih a drop kick.

Styles tags in and he punches Cena in the head.  Styles punches Cena.  Cena with punches but Styles with a Ushigoroshi and he gets a near fall.  Anderson tags in and he punches Cena. Anderson gets a near fall.  Gallows tags in and he gets a near fall.   Gallows with an uppercut but he misses a splash when Cena moves out of the way.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Wyatt stands over Cena and he stomps on the chest.  Wyatt misses a back senton when Cena moves.  Styles and Cassady tag in and Colin with shoulder tackles but Styles with a kick.  Colin with a slam and elbow drop followed by a splash into the corner.  Strowman hits Colin from behind and then he takes care of Kofi.  Kofi with a kick to Strowman and Big E takes care of Strowman.  Rowan with a spinning heel kick.  Wyatt with a uranage to Kofi but Woods with a missile drop kick and a flip dive onto the Wyatt Family.  Styles leaps over Colin and Colin clotheslines Styles.  Gallows stops the Rocket Launcher.  Styles with an Attitude Adjustment to Gallows.  Anderson with a spinebuster to Anderson.

Enzo comes off the turnbuckles with a DDT.  The New Day and Wyatts fight to the back.  Styles with forearms and kicks.  Styles goes for the Styles Clash on Enzo but Enzo escapes and he hits Cena by accident.  Styles with the Styles Clash to Enzo for the three count.

We get a look back at Enzo Amore and Big Cass making the save for John Cena last week. We see The Club walking backstage and Renee approaches for comments. Karl Anderson says Enzo and Cass are in trouble tonight. AJ Styles says Cena doesn’t care about Enzo and Cass. AJ points out how Cena isn’t here tonight as he’s at the ESPY Awards rehearsals in LA. AJ says they’re going to take out Enzo and Cass tonight, then they should jump on a flight to LA to crash the ESPYs, then… #BeatUpJohnCena. The Club walks off laughing as we go to commercial.

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson vs. Enzo Amore and Big Cass

We go to the ring and out comes The Club. Enzo Amore and Big Cass are out next to a big pop. They cut promos on the way to the ring. Cass says everyone on the roster wants Cena’s spot, including them, but that has to be earned. Cass goes on and says they have stepped up and joined the fight instead of sitting back and waiting. AJ Styles calls that a real cute story and reminds them that Cena is not here tonight because he doesn’t care about Enzo and Cass. AJ gives them the chance to walk away but Enzo says the only place they’re walking is into the ring. Cass leads the “SAWFT” gimmick and they head to the ring as we go to commercial.

Back from the break and Enzo is going at it with Anderson. They trade holds as AJ cheers The Club on from ringside. Enzo dodges a move in the corner and rolls Anderson up for 2. Enzo with a backslide for 2. Enzo with another takedown to keep Anderson grounded.

Styles gets dueling chants from the crowd. Anderson turns things around and takes Enzo down with another headlock. Cass finally gets a tag and works Anderson over. Enzo tags back in and they double team Anderson. Enzo doesn’t see Gallows get a tag. Gallows comes in with a big boot and then launches Enzo into the corner. Enzo falls to the floor and AJ talks trash as we go to commercial.

Back from the break and Gallows is in control of Enzo. Gallows with a 2 count. Enzo reaches for a tag but Gallows slams him back into the corner. Enzo fights Gallows off and decks Anderson. Enzo brings Gallows down with a big DDT. Cass gets the hot tag and unloads on both opponents. Anderson takes the Empire Elbow and a big fall-away slam out of the corner. Cass with a big splash in the corner and then a big boot on Anderson. Enzo tags in for the Rocket Launcher. Styles dumps Cass to the floor. Gallows breaks up Enzo’s pin. AJ tosses Cass over the barrier for the disqualification.

Winners by DQ: Enzo Amore and Big Cass

After the bell, Styles comes into the ring and The Club surrounds Enzo. John Cena’s music hits to a big pop and out he comes. Cena rushes the ring as does Cass from the crowd. The Club brawls with Cena, Enzo and Cass but get tossed to the floor. Both teams face off and talk trash as the crowd pops. Cena’s music hits as The Club looks on from ringside.

Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring.

Seth says in four weeks at Battleground, you will get the match you have always dreamt of.  A Triple Threat match with the members of the Shield for the WWE Championship.  Seth starts talking about Roman Reigns.  He says he is not supposed to talk about Roman Reigns, but he has a mic and he is in the center of the ring so he wants to talk about it.  He says the biggest mistake that Roman Reigns made embarassed him.  Bringing him into the fold and then Roman getting suspended soiled his name.  Then Roman makes a statement that same day.  He has it put on the TitanTron.

Seth says it is ridiculous that Roman Reigns is apologizing because he never apologized before.  It was always one versus all so you have no friends.  What about the fans?  You said you were THE GUY.  At least you admit you made a mistake.  Seth mentions the “I Own It” comment.  It is manly to own up after the fact.  The bottom line is that he owns Roman.  He says he always owned Roman.  He owned him at Wrestlemania and then at Money in the Bank.

Seth says that Roman does not deserve a second chance or forgiveness.  He does not deserve to be in the main event of Battleground.  The right thing to do is to take Roman Reigns out of that match and give him the one-on-one rematch with Dean Ambrose for the WWE Title that he rightfully deserves.

Dean Ambrose makes his way to the ring.

Dean asks Seth if he is okay.  He says he looks a little sick.  He wants to know if it is about Roman or if it is about Dean having the title.  Dean says Roman made a mistake.  Dean says he was friends wtih Seth and that is a huge mistake.  Dean says that Seth wears skinny jeans and that is a mistake.  Roman admitted he made a mistake and Dean says as far as he is concerned the Triple Threat Match is still on.

AJ Styles makes his way to the ring.

He says that Dean is on to things.  AJ says it should remain a Triple Threat Match.  Dean Ambrose versus Seth Rollins versus AJ Styles.  AJ says he is the guy who beat John Cena in a dream match.  Take out Roman Reigns and put him in and that resolves the situation.

Dean says he thinks Roman is still in the match.

AJ says why not put him in and make it a Fatal Four Way Match.

Seth says it needs to be a one on one match.

John Cena’s music plays and he comes out.

John says that Dean Ambrose is a fighting champ.  He will fight a friend, he will fight a foe, he will fight a frog?  Will he fight a franchise?  John points out he has been the champion fifteen times and he had his first match in the WWE fourteen years ago.  For the last twelve years, he has lived in Tampa.  He says he has been sitting in traffic on the Veterans Expressway and was acting Funky Like a Monkey on South Howard Avenue.  John reminds Dean the last time they wrestled, he won.  Why not make it a Fatal Five Way.

Seth says it is going to be a one on one match.

Stephanie McMahon makes her way to the stage.

Stephanie says that she has a solution.  What happened to Roman Reigns was an embarassment, but the bigger embarassment is that Dean Ambrose is the World Champion.  She is mortified.  How do we reconcile this?  She is going to ask Shane . . . but he is not here again because he is on vacation.

John and AJ, that is a good idea to add you into the match, but an opportunity like that needs to be earned.  Seth Rollins will face John Cena.  AJ will face Dean Ambrose.  If you win your matches, you will be added to the title match at Battleground.  She wishes everyone but Dean luck tonight.

Match Number Three:  Seth Rollins versus John Cena in an If John Cena wins, he is now a part of the WWE Title Match at Battleground and nothing happens to Seth, but if Seth wins, John is not in the match at Battleground for the WWE Title Match

They lock up and Rollins with a side head lock.  Cena with a shoulder tackle and Reigns adjusts his neck.  Cena with a side head lock and Rollins with a shoudler tackle.  Rollins with a kick and punches to Cena.  Rollins punches Cena again and Cena goes down.  Rollins with a drop kick and he gets a near fall.  Rollins with a punch but Cena with a drop kick.  Cena with an Irish whip but Rollins with an elbow and then he hits a Blockbuster for a near fall.

Rollins kicks Cena and then he applies a rear chin lock. AJ Styles is walking in the back as we go to commercial.

We are back and AJ Styles makes his way to the ring.

We see what happened at Money in the Bank when AJ defeated John Cena with some help from Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

AJ says you all sound happy and he should feel happy. He says he envisioned this moment for years.  He dreamt about it and then it became a reality.  This dream match between John Cena and AJ Styles was tainted by two guys who were supposed to be more than brothers to him.  He beat John Cena.  AJ says that he beat John Cena.

It was not how he dreamt it and he did not expect Gallows and Anderson to get involved.  He wants Luke and Karl to make their way to the ring to make a public apology if the Club is going to continue.

Luke and Karl make their way to the ring.

AJ asks if they have been through a lot.  He says he had John Cena right where he wanted him.  He says he did not need their help.  There will never be another first time AJ Styles versus John Cena match.

Karl says they were just trying to help.

AJ says they gave John an excuse and they dragged his name through the mud.  He tells Karl and Luke to look him in the eyes and apologize.

AJ tells Karl to go first.  Karl apologizes.

AJ tells Luke to turn that frown upside down.  Luke apologizes.

AJ says he needs them to apologize to one more person . . . John Cena.

AJ wants John Cena to come out to accept this apology.

John Cena makes his way to the stage.

John says he does not need an apology.  They had a contract and you broke it.

Luke tells John it was not AJ’s fault.  AJ had no idea that they were going to get involved last night so he is sorry.

Karl tells John that AJ signed the contract but they did not.  They took advantage of that fact and for that, he is sorry.

AJ tells John they are sorry.

John says you are fighting to survive in the WWE and you needed a win desperately and you did it by any means necessary.  This is a moment you should be congratulated.  Maybe a number one contender.  You use your Club like an apology or maybe you are proving you are not as good as you say you are.

AJ says that John is using Luke and Karl as an excuse because maybe you aren’t as good as you are.

John says he respects the win.  Winning is the key to success in WWE.  When you win night in and night out, that is what a champion is made of.  What you don’t get is right up there with winning is being a man of your word.  When your back is against the wall, you have two things, your balls and your word.  Last night you proved you have neither one of them.

AJ says Karl and Luke did you a favor.  AJ says he does not care about the fans.  Luke and Karl gave you an excuse.  He will give John the option of any member of the Club to face tonight.

John comes to the ring and he says that he choses AJ Styles.

AJ says he was not finished and he says any member of the Club but him.  They got involved and should be punished.  AJ says he has the Stone Cold Podcast tonight and he already beat John.  AJ asks which one will it be.

John asks if it matters.  You are riding real high of the win last night and the apology tonight.  It does not matter which he chooses.  One will be in the ring and two will be on the floor.  He says he wishes AJ signed the contract for Cena versus the Club.  John says in a fair fight, he would knock each of their teeth down their throat.

AJ says that John is wrong and people don’t like you because you always think you have to be right.  AJ says he is a man of his word.  It will be Karl Anderson versus John Cena, one on one.  AJ says Karl Anderson will knocks John’s teeth down his throat and you will realize you are not as good as you think.  AJ wishes John luck and then he mentions his appearance on the Stone Cold Podcast later tonight.

We go to commercial.

Match Number Three:  John Cena versus Karl Anderson

Cena punches Anderson and then he gives Karl a hard Irish whip.  Cena with another hard Irish whip.  Cena with a suplex.  John with a clothesline and then he slams Anderson.  Cena with another clothesline.  Cena with a Blue Thunder Bomb and then he signals for the Five Knuckle Shuffle and connects.  Cena with an Attitude Adjustment and Styles and Gallows attack Cena on the cover.  The referee calls for the bell.

Winner:  John Cena (by disqualification)

After the match, they attack Cena and Anderson and Gallows hit the Magic Killer.  Styles sets for the Styles Clash and he hits it.

The announcers argue about The Club and their behavior.

Money in the Bank Contract Signing

We are back and Michael Cole is in the ring and he has the contract signing table and chairs ready for the match fifteen years in the making as those two men sign the contract for their match.

Cole brings out John Cena.

John says they have a rowdy crowd in New Orleans tonight.  This Sunday on the WWE Network, Money in the Bank might as well be Wrestlemania.  Money in the Bank match, champion versus the man who never lost the title, and a history making match no one thought we would see.  People have asked what would happen if John Cena faced AJ Styles. He says he loves WWE and whatever reason the decision makers would tell AJ he did not belong.  John says he respects AJ Styles because whether it was PWG, New Japan, or Ring of Honor, there was a name that was associated with greatness and that is AJ Styles.  John says he has won fifteen championships but AJ has won more in that time.

Finally AJ Styles got the chance and he is here.  The two WWE Superstars who can walk around without a title and still be called champ will face off on Sunday.  This is a history making match and this is a history making contract signing.  This is going to be a little different tonight.  He tells Cole to step aside.  All they need now to make history is AJ Styles.

AJ Styles makes his way to the ring.

AJ says for the past two weeks, he has turned John’s world upside down.  AJ says the world is still talking about what he did to John Cena.  AJ says at Money in the Bank, he will do it again.  When that bell rings, he will run circles around John and John will say ‘you can’t see me’ because you can’t beat me.

John tells AJ that there are two contracts.  One is for a singles match.  The other is John Cena versus The Club.

With the Club at ringside, you will get his best and you will win the match and secure your role as captain of the Bitch Club.  You could sign the other one and bring it back to the electricity we had when we first stood together in the ring.  Sign this contract and we get the real answer to ‘what if’

AJ says that he sees what John is doing.  He says that John does not think he can beat him one on one.  Is it because you are a fifteen time champion?  Because you won the Royal Rumble twice?  Is it because you are the face that runs this place?

What if AJ Styles was here fifteen years ago?  You wouldn’t have been a fifteen time champion.  You wouldn’t have won the Royal Rumble twice.  You wouldn’t be on magazine covers and been the star of crappy movies.  AJ says he would have been the face of this company.

John says your club isn’t full of bullets, it is full of bull.  You sound like all of the other indie guys who claim it could have been them, but you have the chance to prove it.  He tells John to sign the contract and prove him wrong.  Or you sign that and you aren’t going to need him to bury Styles,  You will bury yourself and they can put you on a bullet train back home because you left your balls over there.

AJ signes the contract for the singles match.

AJ tells John you are going to find out he is not every independent guy with your K-Mart shopping ass.  After Money in the Bank, you will get the message that your time is up and his time is now.

We go to commercial.

A replay is shown of AJ Styles and The Club attacking John Cena in his return to RAW last week. They’ll fight at Money in the Bank.

Later tonight, The New Day will take on The Club in a six-man tag team match.

John Cena In-Ring Segment

-Commercial Break-

John Cena makes his way to the ring. Replays are shown of AJ Styles and The Club attacking Cena last week on RAW. Cena says you don’t know what you have until it’s gone. We had passion and electricity. Last week, he and Styles were in the ring looking eye-to-eye. That’s a moment that happens once in a generation. Usually we have a rowdy Monday Night RAW crowd like this one (that got a light response from this tough crowd), and sometimes we have a “Let’s go Cena/Cena sucks” chant. That kicks up. Half of them have his back, and half doesn’t want him back. For two and a half minutes, they had Cena and Styles chants. Cena then gets that going. Cena says he’s only had electricity like that once before with The Rock. The Rock and AJ Styles had very different career paths, but that didn’t change the energy. A lot of people didn’t think that would happen. For fifteen years, people asked, “What if?” We were finally going to get that answer, but now he needs an answer to another question: “Why, AJ, why?” Why the hell did he take the easy way out? Now what we have is a chance for AJ Styles to explain himself. Cena then calls him out to the ring.

AJ Styles comes out to a good reception with The Club behind him. A loud “AJ Styles” chant breaks out. They let it go out a little bit. Cena says the excitement is there. Why did he go back with his junkies from The Bullet Club? Styles says he had a plan. He wanted to shake his hand, look him right in the eyes, and punch him right in the face. The crowd boos that. It worked to perfection. Styles says Cena insults him. Cena is great on the microphone, the morning and late night shows, and movies – well, the one he has cameos in at least. Cena insults him every time the bell rings. Styles says he knows that it burns Cena up inside to know that he can’t beat him. Styles mocks the “You can’t see me” taunt. Styles repeats the same thing he tells his kids when they ask why he hasn’t faced Cena: it’s because he would run circles around him.

Cena says he can’t believe Styles had fifteen years to come up with insults and that’s the best he could do. It’s the same thing every other person says when they meet him face-to-face. Cena says his jokes are as outdated as his jorts. Cena says he sees a man who worked two decades to try to make it and finally got a surprise entrance in the Royal Rumble and did nothing. Then he was gifted an opportunity at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and failed twice. Instead of shaking it off, he second guessed himself. A lot of people have told him he’s God’s gift to sports-entertainment, and he’s been a bust. Styles looked to the one guy that could save his ass and make him feel like he belongs. Cena says that isn’t phenomenal – that’s desperate. Styles couldn’t get past Roman Reigns and now he’s trying him? Styles doesn’t know who he’s dealing with.

Styles tells him to back it up. Styles says he’s not desperate. He’s been all over the world. Desperate is for people that have nowhere to go. It doesn’t matter where he goes. They would welcome him back. It doesn’t matter if it’s Osaka or Tokyo, Japan – he’d sell them out in a second because that’s what happens when he steps in the ring. Styles says he has nothing else to prove. Unfortunately for Cena, he has nothing to lose. The guy in the fight with nothing to lose is the most dangerous. Cena says he knows that because he has nothing to lose every time he steps in the ring. Cena asks why it is him versus The Club. Styles says everyone that knows this place knows that if you lose to Cena, you can get the shovels out because you’ll be buried. The Club is there as an insurance policy to keep his head above ground. The Club goes down to the ring and surrounds Cena. Cena prepares for a fight. The Club puts up the clique signal and start to get in the ring, but they bail out when The New Day runs down. The Club leaves the ring as The New Day stands tall with Cena.

The New Day will face The Club later tonight.

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson make their way to the ring followed by AJ Styles. Another replay is shown of Styles and The Club attacking John Cena last week. The Club will face The New Day, next.

-Commercial Break-

The New Day makes their way to the ring. Xavier Woods in two weeks time, they’ll be in a Fatal Four Way match for the Tag Team Titles. Big E says they’re in a club, but it’s not the Hair Club For Men because they’re bald. Kofi Kingston wishes they were the Mickey Mouse Club so he could get autographs for himself and his sons. Woods starts to sing it, but Big E says that could get them sued. Woods says they’re in an actual club of WWE World Tag Team Champions. New Day rocks!

The Club vs. The New Day

The New Day and The Club stand face-to-face. A brawl breaks out between the two teams. Big E clotheslines Karl Anderson out of the ring, and Kofi Kingston gets Luke Gallows out of the ring. Xavier Woods takes AJ Styles down in the ring. Anderson avoids Big E at ringside, and Big E hits the ring steps. Kingston jumps off the steps, but Gallows punches him out of mid-air. In the ring, Woods clubs Styles down. Woods then takes Gallows out with an impressive summersault senton plancha. Woods gets in the ring and punches Styles out of the ring. Woods goes to the apron and kicks Styles away. Anderson then boots Woods down on the apron. Styles grabs Woods and gives him the Styles Clash on the floor! The match has yet to start.

-Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Big E and Kingston walking down to the ring. Woods is injured and had to go back to the locker room. The New Day will compete in this match three-on-two. The referee calls for the bell to start the match.

Kingston and Anderson start the match. Kingston punches him to the corner and avalanches him. Anderson powers him to his corner, but Kingston fights them off and gets away. Kingston connects with a back suplex before tagging in Big E. Kingston kicks Anderson in the chest before Big E hits a belly-to-belly overhead suplex. Big E chokes him and splashes him on the apron. Styles charges Big E at ringside, but he ducks it. Styles stumbles him with a pelé kick, and Gallows floors Big E with a big boot. Anderson stomps away at Big E as he gets back in the ring. Gallows tags in, and he clubs away at him before Anderson tags back in. Anderson boots him in the face and tags in Styles. Styles hits a corner clothesline and tags Gallows back in. Gallows hits a corner clothesline for a near fall. Gallows applies a chin lock before dropping some elbows. Big E rolls out of the way of one, so Anderson is tagged in. Big E avoids an elbow drop from Anderson as well.

Kingston and Styles are tagged in. Kingston connects with a springboard chop and knocks Gallows off the apron. Kingston chops Styles down and connects with a dropkick before hitting a leaping clothesline. Kingston catches him with the Boom Drop before giving Gallows a DDT. Styles grabs Kingston and sends him to the corner. Styles avoids a cross-body and goes for the Styles Clash, but Kingston counters into the SOS, but Anderson breaks it up. Big E runs in and gives him the Belly-To-Booty Suplex. Gallows big boots him, and Kingston superkicks him out of the ring. Styles then floors Kingston with the Phenomenal Forearm for the win.

Winners by Pinfall: The Club

The Club continues to attack The New Day until John Cena runs down for the save. Cena takes out Anderson and Gallows with punches and gets in the ring, but Styles quickly leaves. Cena attacks Gallows and Anderson as they get on the apron. Styles then attacks Cena with a forearm. Styles punches away at Cena before getting up and laughing. Styles stomps him before Kingston takes him out with a springboard dropkick. Anderson runs in, and Big E connects with the Big Ending. Gallows comes in, and Cena catches him with the AA. The Club

We are back and FINALLY . . . John Cena has returned to Raw.

John says let every nation know if they wish us well or ill, that they will pay any price and bear any burden and meet any hardship. They will aid any friend and oppose any foe for the success of liberty.

John says there are many brave heroes who have fallen proving those words to be true. Memorial Day is a celebration of their sacrifices. John says he is proud to be back home. John says on this day, it is with the utmost respect that he pays tribute to those who have given up their lives.

John says that liberty is freedom. It is our pulse and life blood that makes us feel. You can look how you want and listen to whatever you want. You can stand on the edge of your chair and scream at the top of your lungs. That freedom allows John to plant his feet in this ring and say that he is back on Raw.

Now that poses a whole new question. The question is, does he still belong here? In his absence a New Era has arrived. It means new names and new faces. Those names and faces all think that this is the end of the line for Cena to move on and move out.

John says new era, old era, whatever era there is, they have to worry about the judgment over what he has done. John says he will not go quietly into the night. John says the future must go through him.

AJ Styles’ music plays and he makes his way to the ring.

AJ and Cena stand in the ring while they listen to the dueling chants.

AJ tells John Cena that he has been waiting for this moment for a long time.

John says that it sounds like everyone else has been waiting for this too.

Styles says Cena has a bad rep but he does not understand why. He heard John was the first to the arena and the last to leave. He has busted his tail in the ring and out of the ring. AJ says they have been in two different worlds before, but they are in this ring together right now. AJ says he respects John’s hard work, and so does the locker room. AJ says he wanted to be the first to tell John ‘Welcome back’. During this part of the promo, the crowd does a regular ‘what’ chant.

John and AJ shake hands.

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson make their way to the ring and Luke tells AJ they agreed to go their separate ways. You saw what they did to the New Day. It looks like the way you are going is to suck up to John Cena.

Karl says he thought that was beneath AJ, but apparently not. Unlike you, they are not here to kiss ass. They are here to kick it. Karl says that includes AJ too.

Karl and Luke get in the ring and John and AJ get ready for Karl and Luke but AJ punches Cena and then Karl and Luke join in. Gallows with a boot to Cena and then Gallows and Anderson punch and kick Cena.

AJ leaves the ring with Karl and Luke, but he returns to the ring to punch Cena some more.

Styles goes towards the back again, but he returns to the ring for more brutality on Cena.
