A Phenomenal New Reign! After a Phenomenal Victory over Jinder Mahal In Manchester, A.J. Styles has had one thing on his mind… Brock Lesnar. This will be the first time A.J. Styles will face Brock Lesnar. Before the two clash at Survivor Series, Styles had to answer Brock Lesnar’s warning. Daniel Bryan helped A.J. by being his advocate for one night. Just as Styles was on a high, he met up with Jinder Mahal backstage. Mahal tells him what Lesnar does to him won’t compare to what he will do to him after Survivor Series. WWE.com has the full rundown on the go home show on the road to Survivor Series check it out below.

After being attacked by Kane three weeks ago on Monday Night Raw, General Manager Daniel Bryan returned to SmackDown LIVE with vigor.

The four-time World Champion insisted that Raw’s recent actions were driven by their fear of SmackDown and their embarrassment over #UnderSiege, and that’s why they added Triple H to Team Red at Survivor Series. He assured the WWE Universe that his brand always comes back twice as strong and that they were ready for any counter attack Raw may bring on the final SmackDown LIVE before Survivor Series. Above all, Bryan promised that Team Blue would reign supreme at WWE’s fall classic and prove to be the superior show.

Bryan then welcomed newly crowned WWE Champion AJ Styles to the ring and opted to act as The Phenomenal One’s “advocate” (aka Paul Heyman) – making the argument that Universal Champion Brock Lesnar always quits when things get tough and, when The Beast is beaten by Styles in every way possible, he will quit again at Survivor Series and AJ Styles would reign supreme.

Styles then acknowledged that he is the underdog, but that he will find a way to triumph over Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and prove, without a doubt, that “The House that AJ Styles Built” was truly the A-show.

Phenomenal Victory! A.J. Styles has been a thorn in Jinder Mahal’s side for weeks. On this very special night where SmackDown was taped in Manchester, is A.J. Styles ready for his title bout? Styles came out to a huge pop from the WWE Universe in Manchester. The match was hard hitting from the start. In the end A.J. Styles “Phenomenal Forearm” sealed the deal. Styles was crowned two time WWE Champion. For more on the Phenomenal Victory, check out what WWE.com had to say.

With both the WWE Championship and the opportunity to clash with Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series on the line, WWE Champion Jinder Mahal and AJ Styles dazzled the rabid WWE Universe in Manchester by slugging it out for the title in one of the biggest main events in SmackDown LIVE history.

With a chance to become WWE Champion for the second time, The Phenomenal One was amped up, but Mahal was at the top of his game, occasionally manhandling Styles and viciously throwing AJ into the announcer’s table. Methodical in his approach, The Modern Day Maharaja attempted to wear down Styles, but the challenger phenomenally fired back with a stinging barrage of strikes and high-impact maneuvers. Styles’ offense would often come in spurts though, as Mahal was able to use his size and strength advantages time and again to regain control.

In the contest’s final moments, Styles’ appeared to be closing in on the title when he connected with a breathtaking springboard 450 splash onto the WWE Champion, but the sneaky Singh Brothers pulled Mahal out of the ring, and thus out of danger from being defeated. This prompted The Phenomenal One to pummel The Singhs on the outside, taking them out of the equation. However, it seemed the distraction would cost Styles, as it allowed The Modern Day Maharaja to counter a Phenomenal Forearm attempt into Khallas, yet AJ narrowly got his foot on the bottom rope to break up the count.

Mahal then horrifyingly attempted a Khallas from the top rope, hoping to end the battle once and for all. The ever-resilient Styles countered by stunning The Modern Day Maharaja and dropping him neck-first on the top rope, giving himself the opening to soar into the skies and connect with The Phenomenal Forearm for the incredible championship victory. A furious Mahal took out his post-match aggression by bashing The Singh Brothers while Styles celebrated with the WWE Universe.

Styles’ win meant several things: The Phenomenal One was now a two-time WWE Champion, Mahal’s much-discussed reign was over, the WWE Championship had changed hands outside of North America for the first time ever and the Champion vs. Champion showdown was now AJ Styles vs. Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. Wow, wow, wow.

A Phenomenal Effort! For weeks, A.J. Styles has been a very busy man. With matches on both Raw and SmackDown Live, Styles has shown us that he can handle anything that is thrown his way. Jinder Mahal included. A.J. Styles told Mahal to his face that he never beat him. Mahal puts the Singh brothers in Styles path. On both occasions, they were squashed in minutes. After the match tonight, Jinder Mahal tried to take things into his own hands by attacking Styles. Mahal got the best of Styles tonight, but A.J. will definitely have a phenomenal comeback. Here is more on what happened from WWE.com had to say.

After AJ Styles defeated Sunil Singh last week on SmackDown LIVE, WWE Champion Jinder Mahal’s other “advocate” Samir Singh was now the one eager to defend his leader’s honor by taking on The Phenomenal One here on Team Blue. First, however, Mahal took center stage to yet again address his opponent at Survivor Series, Raw’s Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar.

The Modern Day Maharaja insisted he was not afraid of The Beast and planned on beating, victimizing and conquering Lesnar on the one night a year when Raw and SmackDown Superstars compete. However, before Mahal got too deep into speaking to his people in Punjabi, he was interrupted by Styles, who was clearly ready to compete.

The Phenomenal One made quick work of Samir, nearly driving him through the canvas with a devastating Styles Clash to pick up the win in near-record time.

Mahal would get the last, though, relentlessly beating down Styles after his big win, punctuating the assault by twice dropping his nemesis with the Khallas and making a statement to both The Phenomenal One and Brock Lesnar.

A Stylish Squash! As of late, A.J. Styles has been putting in the work. From South America to Central America. Styles has shown the WWE Universe that he loves what he does. When he’s beat, he makes no excuses. He accepts it for what it is. A few weeks ago on SmackDown Live, A.J. interrupted Jinder Mahal and told him that he shouldn’t forget that he never beat him. To prove that Styles can be beat, Jinder constructed a plan to take out Styles. Before any of that can happen, SmackDown Live would go on to send the first message to Raw on the road to Survivor Series. A.J. Styles and a few of the superstars from SmackDown Live took Raw under siege. They laid waste to all superstars they came in contact with. Now that his duties were finished with Raw, Styles set his eyes on sending Jinder Mahal a message by taking out Sunill Singh in a squash match with the Calf Crusher. WWE.com has highlights on what happened check it out below.

After WWE Champion Jinder Mahal delivered an impassioned speech about how he would defeat Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, it was time for his confidant, Sunil Singh, to stick true to his promise from last week and square off against AJ Styles.

Worried about his protégé’s chances, The Modern Day Maharaja attempted to get involved prior to the match starting, but he was immediately caught in the act by the referee, who tossed the WWE Champion from ringside. From there, it was easy pickings for The Phenomenal One, who took Samir Singh out of the equation when he hopped up on the ring apron to interfere before locking Sunil in the Calf Crusher for a seamless tapout victory.

Raw Becomes Phenomenal! After going to war with The Demon Finn Balor at TLC, A.J. Styles has come to Raw for One Night Only. Kurt Angle announces a match of The Raw Tag Team Champs Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose along with A.J. Styles vs The Miz and Sheamus & Cesaro.. The match was nothing short of incredible especially after what the superstars went through at TLC.
At match start all competitors went after each other. With rapid fire punches, backbreakers and clothes lines, one would wonder who would reign supreme. The match saw A.J. Styles enter the ring like the phenomenal one he is. Giving off a huge Pele Kick, he seemed to take down his opponents. While Dean & Seth cleared the ring, Styles hit Cesaro with a Phenomenal Forearm to seal the win for his team.
While celebrating their win, Kane makes an appearance and throws Styles out of the ring.  At the end of Raw, we saw Shane McMahon order his SmackDown team to take Raw under siege. Superstars including AJ Styles hunted down and attacked any Raw superstar in their path. For more on A.J.’s match and SmackDown’s TakeOver, check out what WWE.com said about what transpired tonight below.

Kurt Angle’s in-ring return last night was almost too good to be true. But all good things must end, and so The Olympic Hero got right back to business as Raw General Manager less than 24 hours after suiting up with The Shield by sanctioning a series of Champion vs. Champion Matches for WWE Survivor Series.

And they were quite a slate of contests indeed: Alexa Bliss vs. Natalya in a battle of Women’s Champions, Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins vs. The Usos in the Tag Team Champion crossover that Twitter foretold, and a bout pitting United States Champion Baron Corbin against Intercontinental Champion The Miz. He also announced there would be a pair of traditional Survivor Series Elimination Matches — one between the male Superstars of the two shows and one between the women.

Speaking of The Miz, The A-Lister quickly inserted himself into the proceedings with Curtis Axel, Cesaro & Sheamus in tow, demanding Angle’s resignation for once again maneuvering the spotlight away from the Intercontinental Champion. Ambrose & Rollins arrived to shore up the odds, but Angle opted not to don the black once again for the ensuing Six-Man Tag Team Match, instead subbing in a surprise SmackDown LIVE Superstar who’d stuck around for an extra night: AJ Styles.

AJ Styles showed up to WWE TLC on about five minutes of sleep and still gave “The Demon” Finn Bálor the fight of his life. So, you can imagine how the former WWE Champion competed after a full night’s rest when he teamed with The Shield against the formidable combo of The Miz & The Bar in Raw’s opening contest.

For one, Styles’ presence was a galvanizing force for his two teammates, who had been through a hellish TLC Match not 24 hours earlier, to say nothing of a Raw audience that was pumped to see the former WWE Champion again. And he proved to be a life-saver as well, tagging into the match in the waning minutes when Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins needed him most. A Phenomenal Forearm to Cesaro earned the victory after The Shield dispatched Miz and Sheamus with stereo suicide dives, but the arrival of Kane and subsequent five-on-three beatdown ended Styles’ night on a note that was far from phenomenal.

Raw General Manager Kurt Angle intended to use Raw’s main event to announce the brand’s male competitors for the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match. Unfortunately, an offhanded remark earlier in the evening to visiting SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon about the blue brand’s comparatively thin ranks came back to haunt The Olympic Hero when The Prodigal Son marched his roster through the audience to surround Angle in the ring and place Raw “under siege.”

With The New Day leading the charge, SmackDown picked the Raw Superstars apart one by one across the entire backstage area. Chad Gable made a beeline for Jason Jordan, the Women’s roster handily overpowered Sasha Banks & Co., and Baron Corbin even took out a hapless backstage worker. Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins put up the toughest fight by attacking from the shadows, but Team Blue overpowered The Hounds of Justice before leading Angle back to the top of the ramp.

Rusev and Corbin marched the Raw General Manager to the ring for a final face-to-face confrontation with Shane, who commanded Angle to bring his gold medal and what was left of his roster to Survivor Series, where SmackDown would finish what they started. And given the display that had just unfolded, Shane didn’t even have to steal Angle’s catchphrase (though he did anyway) for The Olympic Hero to realize that his promise may very well come true.

A Stylish Statement. After a huge triple threat match at Hell In A Cell, AJ Styles had one message for Jinder Mahal. Styles wanted to make sure Mahal didn’t forget that he didn’t pin him. Mahal persisted that AJ Styles was not worthy enough to face him for the title. AJ Styles had heard enough, he sent the champion retreating after Pele kicking him. WWE.com has the latest on the encounter between The Phenomenal One and Champion read all about it below.

WWE Champion Jinder Mahal promised a major announcement for Survivor Series and, boy, did he ever deliver.

Flanked by The Singh Brothers and fresh off a trip to his native India, The Modern Day Maharaja declared that he had defeated everyone worth defeating on SmackDown LIVE and had a new conquest in mind: Raw’s Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar. The challenge sent shockwaves throughout the WWE Universe, with them all thinking about what it would be like if Raw and SmackDown LIVE’s top champions were to clash in an epic brand vs. brand showdown.

However, in the wake of the announcement, AJ Styles hit the scene with a different, ringing statement: Mahal had never beaten him. The two traded verbal barbs, which resulted in Mahal insulting The Phenomenal One and Styles dropping Mahal with a barrage of strikes and a pinpoint Pele Kick.

Furious with AJ’s treatment of him, Jinder stormed into Bryan’s office and volunteered Sunil Singh to challenge Styles to a match the following week on Team Blue, which Sunil tentatively accepted and Bryan immediately approved.

Being a Phenomenal Champion is something that AJ Styles knows a lot about. He has proved time and time again that he can go toe to toe with the best of the best. At Hell In A Cell, AJ had a fight on his hands as the one on one match between he and Baron Corbin now added a new opponent in Tye Dillinger. The match was very brutal as all opponents wanted the gold. In the end, Baron Corbin dethroned AJ Styles although he pinned Tye Dillinger.

On SmackDown Live AJ wanted his championship back from Baron Corbin. AJ gave Baron Corbin his props, but then said that he makes mistakes. He said that he’ll be damned if a lone wolf thinks he can walk out with his title. It is the end of days for Baron Corbin. The United States Championship Match started off with Styles not wasting time. After a few quick hits to him Corbin left the ring on his own the first time and AJ threw him out the second time. AJ gave everything he had to get his championship back. During the match, AJ seemed to favor his knee at one point. AJ regained momentum for the time being by pushing Corbin through the post shoulder first. He then followed up with a calf crusher. AJ was launched from the ring to the floor and never recovered. Checkout below what WWE.com had to say.

Baron Corbin won the United States Title at WWE Hell in a Cell in a Triple Threat Match without pinning the champion … and naturally this was a tough pill to swallow for the former titleholder, AJ Styles. Styles was so fired up that he immediately exercised his rematch clause, setting in motion a major main event matchup on SmackDown LIVE.

The Phenomenal One and The Lone Wolf threw down for the star-spangled championship, creating some highlight reel moments, including Styles sending Corbin soaring across the announcer’s desk with a dynamic dropkick. In the heat of the action, Styles leapt off the ring apron at Corbin, who countered by viciously throwing Styles shoulder-first onto the ground. This made Styles far worse for wear, allowing Corbin to get his nemesis back into the ring and finish him off with the punishing End of Days for the victory.

Phenomenal Opportunity! AJ Styles has been on a phenomenal roll lately as he has beaten all challengers who came his way. Baron Corbin has proved time and time again that he wants to take shortcuts in getting the US Title. AJ will give him a phenomenal opportunity this Sunday, but he will not make it easy for Corbin. Here is the latest from WWE.com.

Tye Dillinger returned to SmackDown LIVE looking like a man on a mission, determined to seek retribution on Baron Corbin one week after The Lone Wolf took a cheap count-out victory over The Perfect 10 by hurling Dillinger into United States Champion AJ Styles, who was providing commentary at the announce desk.

With Styles watching from a monitor backstage, Corbin beat on the always game Perfect 10 with his usual grit. Yet, he was caught off guard when Dillinger trapped him with a surprise rollup for the three-count. After the match, The Phenomenal One appeared on the TitanTron, letting The Lone Wolf know that there would be no shortcuts against The Phenomenal One in their bout for the U.S. Title at WWE Hell in a Cell.

Targeted! Over the past few weeks, AJ Styles has tried to invite anyone to fight for his US Championship. There was one competitor who didn’t want Styles giving no one an opportunity, but him. Baron Corbin has had an issue with Tye Dillinger being next in line to challenge for the title. Although AJ had no issues in who went after the title, he wanted it to be fair. When Baron Corbin interfered with Dillinger’s match, AJ caught up with Dillinger to tell him that he would give him the opportunity. Although Dillinger came up short, Styles still respected him for the fight he put forth. This time around Dillinger got tired of Baron Corbin and his attacks and decided to go one on one with him. AJ wanted to see this first hand and decided to call the match as a commentator. By match end, Corbin issued a challenge to AJ Styles. Check out the match summary below from WWE.com to see what happened.

Following weeks of unresolved issues and both Superstars vying for the opportunity to challenge AJ Styles for the United States Title, Baron Corbin and Tye Dillinger were ready to throw down, though The Lone Wolf was instantly rattled when The Phenomenal One made his way to the announcer’s table to provide guest commentary.

After the brawl spilled to the outside, The Lone Wolf killed two birds with one stone, throwing a cup of water into The Phenomenal One’s face and then evading a baseball slide from Dillinger and hurling The Perfect 10 into Styles, sending them both tumbling over the announce table. The Lone Wolf re-entered the ring, and Dillinger wasn’t quite able to do the same before the official reached his 10-count, giving Corbin the count-out victory. Adding insult to injury, Dillinger, who made his way up to the ring apron, was sent crashing to the arena floor after eating a big boot from Corbin right after suffering the defeat.

After the match, Styles wanted to continue the fight, but Corbin had a different plan in mind: Demanding a title bout against Styles at WWE Hell in a Cell.

WWE United States Title Match: Baron Corbin vs. AJ Styles

We go to the ring and out comes WWE United States Champion AJ Styles as we see what led to this match. AJ takes the mic and fans chant his name. AJ says first, Kevin Owens has no idea what he’s done after what he did to Vince McMahon last week. Owens beat up the man responsible for AJ being in WWE and the man responsible for the WWE Universe being here tonight. AJ was happy to hear it would be Owens vs. Shane in Hell In a Cell. AJ is confident that Owens won’t make it out alive. AJ addresses Mr. Shortcut Baron Corbin now and starts talking about some of his recent failures. AJ says Corbin will fail when he steps into the ring with The Phenomenal One. AJ says Corbin can huff and puff but he will never blow down the house that AJ Styles built. The music hits and out comes Baron Corbin.

Corbin hits the ring and we get formal ring introductions from Hamilton. Corbin decks AJ before the bell rings. Corbin unloads in the corner as the referee tries to get him to stop. Tye Dillinger runs out for the save and takes out Corbin’s knee. Tye unloads and sends Corbin out of the ring. Referees run down to break up the fight. Corbin scrambles back into the ring and sells an ankle injury. AJ is slow to recover in the corner as well. Corbin clutches his ankle. AJ attacks Corbin and applies the Calf Crusher. The hold is broken as Corbin rolls to the floor and the referee talks to AJ. Corbin clutches his ankle on the floor as the referee checks on him and AJ’s music plays.
